Boter Streams Something

I had tried livestreaming a bit before 2016, but it was in the early part of the year when a friend got into livestreaming, and I followed along. The first big push came as another friend recruited people she knew to her St. Jude PLAY LIVE team, raising money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. That was it – I was hooked. I infrequently streamed in the next few years, taking stabs at keeping a regular schedule but backing back down as I tried to maintain a balance between Twitch, YouTube, and my personal and professional life.

Then, in March of 2020, the world said, “You should stay home for a while.”

I started Brunch With Boter largely to keep my sleep schedule honest. With no obligations, I knew I’d go to sleep far too late, and sleep in too late as well, so Monday to Friday at 10AM I streamed for a couple of hours. It was a great way to keep in touch with some friends and it finally got me the regular streaming schedule I was hoping for. When I became employed again that June, I switched Brunch With Boter to Sundays at 10AM, where it’s remained ever since. In late 2022 I added a regular Boter Streams Something Thursday evening slot. (I’m open to getting a special program name for that one as well, but it’s fine as is.)

I love streaming, and hanging out with people that drop by, from the few regulars and recurring viewers to brand-new viers that come by for just a stream or two. And through it all, I’ve participated in St. Jude PLAY LIVE every May, to use my talents for a cause greater than myself, and encouraged other streaming friends to do the same.
